Demarcation.
Thereās an obvious way to make money I didnāt know until my 30s.
Not funnels.
Not clever CTAs.
Not dopamine content.
Just this;
Help people online by actually helping them.
Solve a real problem.
Deliver a mechanism that makes the problem solvable.
Charge the right value and they will gladly pay you for your trouble.
For years I thought solopreneurship meant āskills, service, and maybe some āpassiveā product if you are lucky.ā
Thatās freelancer thinking.
Hourly-rate thinking.
Beg-for-permission thinking.
I didnāt learn a lot from masterminds. I learned from writing ads for $5 a piece.
I got burned out. Flattened.
But this work resulted in learning skills everyone needs. I also wrote over a million dollars in ads.
Before marketing I was coasting in jobs that felt too easy.
The kind of work where you never get punched in the mouth, and because of that, you never grow.
Leaving the 9ā5 and stepping into higher-level arenas fixed that fast. I got slapped, kicked, humbled. And grateful.
Because, the learning from those years, dwarfs the minutiae I wasted time back in my office chair.
Finally I understood the reality:
Solopreneurs build assets.
Solopreneurs donāt wait for permission.
Solopreneurs create things with a signum so personal no one can copy it.
.
Itās All About Demarcation.
Demarcation = the mental line you cross once, and never come back from.
Itās the point where you stop thinking and start executing.
Itās the point where you work for the sake of the work, reward or no reward.
Itās the point where you stop waiting for validation because you already know it will happen; Itās a matter of when, not if.
Most wonāt cross that line.
They stay in safety.
They choose the dull misery they know over the real challenges they donāt.
They hate their bosses more than they hate their own inertia, so nothing changes.
Those who would give up essential Liberty,
to purchase a little temporary Safety,
deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
ā Benjamin Franklin
Solopreneurs understand this by instinct and choose different.
They donāt chase security.
They take problems as signals.
They take consequences as part of the deal.
They accept friction as the cost of building a life they want.
Thatās the real way to make money online.
Not the glamorous way.
Not the viral way.
The simple way.
You finally step over the line and start helping people.
Demarcation.
