Systems > Willpower
I canāt give you your system. Every life is unique.
But the principle is not:
Simplify.
.
Iāve been there.
Loading a daily to-do list with tasks I couldnāt finish even if I worked 48 hours straight.
Thinking that if I just pushed harder, things would finally move. Thatās the trap.
If you rely on willpower, you already lost.
Why? Because willpower is unstable, unpredictable, and limited.
Willpower runs on forces you donāt control or understand.
Subconscious. Feelings. Impulses.
My best months came when I refused to add more.
Instead, I reduced everything to their core.
I simplified.
.
A System Beats Willpower & Mood.
Overwhelm beats willpower and mood.
Overwhelm usually comes from two problems:
1. Thinking you donāt know.
2. Being too tired to think.
Simple systems on your basics solve both.
The basics. Keep them simple:
Joy
Time
Food
Sleep
Exercise
Income
How?
.
Create Order
Define your arenas. Pick your battles.
Clear inputs, clear outputs, clear priorities.
- Set the day the night before.
- Set the tasks before you sit.
- Know what you will do, when, how, and why.
.
Remove Friction
Shorten paths.
Reduce steps.
Kill resistance.
Replace anything relying on willpower with something simpler.
Simple isnāt easy. Itās earned.
.
Increase Flow
Reduce everything to the power of one.
One tool. One context. One action.
.
Automate
Run anything repeatable run without you.
Review. Optimize. And above all, understand.
You canāt automate what you donāt understand.
.
Delegate
Hard for a one-person business, but tech makes it possible.
Delegate anything low-leverage.
.
Eliminate
Remove the useless.
Even a basic Eisenhower matrix will reveal the dead weight.
Order makes these decisions obvious.
.
Templetize
Anything recurring gets a template.
A template can be physical, digital, or even mental:
you already run heuristics.
Upgrade your templates as you upgrade yourself.
Just remember, templates can turn you into a machine on autopilot if you are lazy.
.
From willpower ā to discipline
From mood ā to mechanisms
Build your systems now.
Build your future.
